Opencast mining or open-pit mining or open cut mining is a surface mining technique used to extract rocks or minerals from the ground.

Regular inspection of safety equipments is a must.
Replace those that doesn’t meet the latest safety standards.
Inviting risk at the cost of lowering expenses on safety measures is way more inhumane than idiotic.

Many incidents from the past could have been avoided if the proper safety measures were considered.
